BU’s Odyssey of the Mind program was recently recognized as one of the best in the world competing in the annual World Final for Odyssey of the Mind, held this year at Michigan State University. Odyssey of the Mind is an international program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Teams solve problems ranging from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics, bringing their solutions to local, state and world competitions. BU placed fifth out of 847 teams representing 32 states and 23 countries with more than 18,000 attendees.
Participating for BU’s two teams were Madur Muzaffar, Kaitlyn Gorgon, Courtney Zeppenfelt, Rachel Andrews, Morgan Hatton, Muaz Modan, Cenan Abdul, Hamza Modir, Mohammad Abujabal, Mohammad Akiry, Matthew Carroll, Samuel Tustin, George Naef, Justin Conti. The teams were coached by Chaza Abdul, advisor, Sonia Ammar and Loreen Powell.
